What Window of the World Do I Want to Paint Today?

Cape Cod

Chris Banks, Artist

There is so much beauty all around us on Cape Cod, from the picturesque landscapes to the simple elegance of everyday objects.

With my canvas, brush, and palette of paints, I try to capture it all. For more than 40 years, I have been both a student and teacher in oil, acrylic and watercolor.

With more than 100 workshops with artists from all over the country I continue to seek new ideas and techniques. As a teacher in both adult education and private classes I have attempted to share my knowledge and love of art with others.

As a member of the Guild of Harwich Artists, I served as director of the Art Gallery for eight years and am now president of the Guild. I am also director of Art in the Park, where guild artists display their works for sale each Monday through July and August at Doane Park in Harwich Port.

Working mostly in oils, my paintings, murals and prints from original works, can be viewed in the Gallery on this site. One project that was particularly fun to do was the mural I created near the Snow Goose & Buckie's Bakery in Harwich Port.

The painting arrived safe and sound. Peter and I are enjoying it in our living room. It's great to have such a beautiful representation of the Cape in our home.

Chris's original works, commissioned pieces, seashells, prints on ceramic tiles and glass cutting
boards appeal to art appreciators of all ages - the young and young at heart. Each time that I view her work I have difficulty deciding which piece to add to my collection. Chris incorporates her "heart into nature's perfection" ergo "Art From the Heart".
